Joy

Joy is watching your child play quietly, intently, innocently—without a care in the world—immersed in her own complacent and complete joy of “simply being,” infinitely oblivious to the worries, dangers, obstacles and evil of this world.

And, then jumping in and playing some too…forgetting, if only for a little bit of a weekend, the chores and other “work” which inundate our busy (does it necessarily have to be?), busy, busy lives.

priceless… her expressions are beautiful! cherish this time with her- time flies so fast that you don’t want to regret not taking time to watch her sitting in the grass, comtemplating a leaf for the first time! she is beautiful and you are blessed- richly blessed!
so sweet and reflective…Isabel, that is. It is such a joy to watch our children grow up and learn and discover and it is difficult to keep that awe and wonder in our lives as we become tainted and hard-hearted and selfish as we get older. What a reminder for us, to remain in awe and wonder esp of what God does in us, around us, and through us.
@jerjonji — thank you! You are absolutely right…I am indeed richly blessed. I pray that I recognize that every single moment, regardless of circumstances.
@east_coast_queen — yes, she is very poignantly and intensely curious and wonders about everything. As for growing up, I stare at her every day and I pray that God lets her “grow up” a little slower, just a little slower.
